Randy King – Follow Up
By Copper
It is hard to estimate the actual number of videos that Randy created for Mark Powers at Control-T Studios, since they never credited anyone as “Director,” although my original estimate of “over 30” was way low. I recall having conversations with Randy about his experiences, and he fondly remembered working with Kevin Niles, and although Kevin’s video “Romantispank” was a “FMO” (For Members Only – not available to the general public), it was advertised on the same flyer as “Biff’s Wet Buns” and “Bad Boys Get…” (CTS-5) which would indicate that Randy was working with Control-T from nearly the very beginning. On the same ad is “Warden and the Letterman” who Randy also recalled working with on a series, in which the Warden spanked a Letterman, a Preppy kid, a Surfer and three Inmates. Those
Other videos from that period would include:
“The Punishment Room”
“Voyeur Brother” and “Dorm Daddy”
“Bad Service” and “Spank Me Sailor”
“Bad Grades” and “Naughty Pupil”
“Pledgemaster” and “The Vice Principal”
Randy had really discovered his own style of directing by the time he worked on “Group Therapy” (CTS-20), “Jock Spank” (CTS-24), “Fraternity Paddle” (CTS-25), “Active Duty” and “Daddy, Please!” (CTS-26), and both of the “Auditions” videos (FMO-4 and CTS-35). Other videos that he took pride in were “When Authority Strikes” (FMO-5), “The Dean of Discipline” (CTS-36), and the “The Disciplinary Hearings” (CTS-39) that introduced Paul Baressi to the world of male-spanking.

If you watch “Uncle Bob’s Cabin” (CTS-43), Randy actually plays a character while operating the camera, as the boys taunt him while he watches them getting spanked – and at the end, Uncle Bob actually lowers Randy (camera and all) over his lap for his own comeuppance, The last Control-T video that I recall Randy chatting about was “Private School Expose” (CTS-59). Which would mean that over a few short years, Randy directed between 90-100 different titles.
And, as I mentioned in the previous note, after Randy left Control-T, he came “out of retirement” to direct “The Misadventures of Rusty” for Santa Barbara Paddle Company, as well as “Kevin’s Dad,” and the first three “S.M.P.D.” videos for Man’s Hand Films (“Breaking and Entering,” “Malicious Mischief” and “Sexual Battery”). Unlike most video productions today, all of Randy’s films had a storyline, sets and believable motivations – and they took several weeks to shoot, edit and publicize by printed mailings. There was genuine excitement when you’d discover a letter from Control-T or Man’s Hand, waiting in your mailbox – and much of the credit for that excitement can be credited to one Randy King!
