Is it my imagination or are the onlookers’ trousers betraying how much they are appreciating the spectacle?
I think I can guess what has happened here; either the sailor being spanked is paying the price for dodging his “crossing the line” (ie first crossing of the equator) ceromony or this is his “crossing the line” celebration.
