    Copper “No Words Required”

Here’s another offering from the US Spanking artist Copper which was originally published in Red Tails Magazine in July of 2015 (Issue 95), but never previously released to the internet. Over the years Copper has produced several “No Words Required” stories where the illustrations pretty much tell the tale.

These drawings should be new to most of the Jock-spank audience. Copper and JockSpank hope you enjoy them!

  • A Spanking History Lesson from Copper: Studio 7 Part 2 – Mike Pastori

The artist Copper continues with his exploration of the History of male on male Spanking videos with a second look at Studio 7 and one of its most controversial characters.

    *****

OK, class. I am glad to hear that a number of readers are enjoying our History Lessons. If any of of you remember Studio-7 videos, you will certainly recall Mike Pastori, one of their frequent models. Whether you liked him or hated him, he certainly made a mark on the spanking-video industry (as well as many-a-bottom) so here is a SPECIAL EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT to share a bit of his personal history.

A SHORT HISTORY OF MALE SPANKING VIDEOS

    STUDIO-7 – Part 2
    MIKE PASTORI

At the height of their success in the mid-1990’s, Studio-7 introduced a new actor by the name of MIKE PASTORI (real name Thomas John Mitchell) who created a sensation with his extremely assertive demeanor and severe spanking technique that often resulted with tears and sobbing. His first video for the company was “You Spanked the President’s Son” (SV-41) and he soon became the resident sadist for Studio-7.

Over the next few years, Mike Pastori would go on to appear in 43 videos for Studio-7, including offerings like “Counselor Training” (SV-65) where he mentors a new employee in how to discipline by first spanking him, and then having him demonstrate what he just learned on a subordinate; “Cry Baby Cry” (SV-66) where a father repeatedly reduces his son to tears; and “The Interview with Peter Stone” (SV-80) featuring a strapping new lad who went on to appear in a half-dozen videos for the studio.

While still working for Studio-7, Mike Pastori founded his own company, MANic Productions, that allegedly included a working dungeon and offered male slaves for rent. Two of those “slaves” escaped and filed criminal complaints against Pastori that included kidnapping and slavery, claiming that they had not consented to his abuse. On November 27, 1996, Pastori’s dungeon was raided by the San Diego Police Department. Pastori was eventually charged with pimping and pandering, and with so much print and video evidence against him, Pastori plea-bargained the allegations down to “attempted pandering” and wound up serving two years in a California state prison.

In addition to his incarceration, Pastori was ordered to cease any involvement with the adult entertainment industry, and upon his release, he discovered that all of his computers and files had been confiscated by the court. Having lost all of his records and mailing lists and after a lifetime of being “in charge,” the prison term and loss of his livelihood weighed heavily on him and he died of a heart attack.

After Mike’s passing, Studio-7 offered a “Final Tribute” for his fans, by discounting his videos for a period of time. I am attaching a copy of that flyer, although you might notice that whoever typed it repeatedly misspelled his name “Pastoria”. Additionally I’m including several of the original catalog pages from his films, including his first video (please note that in the description, “Mike” is referring to a character’s name and not Pastori), as well as the first Peter Stone video, and one of his severe videos, “How to Break a Slave” that Studio-7 wasn’t even sure could be legally released.

  • A Spanking History Lesson from Copper Part 2 – Studio 7

A Spanking History Lesson from Copper Part 2 – Studio 7

The popular American Spanking artist Copper has decided to educate a new generation in the history of male spanking videos, and maybe rekindle some warm memories in an older generation. Copper intends to create a series of “History Lessons” that trace the early days of our fetish on video. In this second instalment Copper focuses on one of the original American spanking studios from the 1980’s Studio 7

Copper has provided a brief written history of the studio, together with a selection of Studio 7’s original adverts.

A SHORT HISTORY OF MALE SPANKING VIDEOS

    STUDIO-7

Based in San Diego, California, Studio-7 was founded by DON STEELE and CAL JOHNSON (not their real names) in the early 1980’s. Their first video, “Billy” was copyrighted in 1982, making Studio-7 one of the very first film studios to produce male-spanking erotica. Over the years, Studio-7 would produce 112 spanking videos in addition to 11 “Preview Tapes” that featured several short vignettes from their most recent releases. Additionally, toward the end of its run, Studio-7 distributed a number of videos known as their “Premium Amateur” series, releasing home movies sent in by fans. Studio-7 videos were only released on VHS tapes and were originally priced from $34.95 to $69.95.

Like other studios in that era, they released several of their earliest Super-8 films on video cassette, but with no sound-track (they did add a musical background). In addition to their videos, Studio-7 also offered photo-sets from their films, charging $20 for 18 color prints. By the late 90’s, they offered the photos on a CD-Rom, with 100 pics for $9.95 (custom made from whatever films you requested).

In 1983, Studio-7 began publishing Woodshed Magazine that featured spanking stories and ads for their own videos in addition to classified ads submitted by customers. Woodshed also included early artwork by Steve Burke and originally sold for $5 per issue. In 1995 Studio-7 discontinued Woodshed Magazine after publishing 55 issues.

While Studio-7 continued to produce and release videos through the rest of the decade, by 2002 they had stopped shooting any new productions. They continued to sell their catalog of videos on-line and by mail order for several years before finally closing up shop. At the present time, I found four Studio-7 titles (Cat Burglar, Jason, Obey My Rules and Uncle Josh) available for viewing on Porn-Hub. They listed a fifth video (Andy Spanked to Tears) but it is actually from a competitor, Sundaze Studios, and not Studio-7. Occasionally you can find original cassettes or copies of Woodshed Magazine offered from sellers that specialize in vintage erotica.

I am attaching several samples of their advertising including the cover and several pages of videos from their 1984 catalog. There is also an ad for Woodshed Magazine and a comic book created by contributing artist Steve Burke. Finally, there is a color catalog page for a couple of the last videos produced by Studio-7, as well the order form for their first 100 videos.

One final note: The color photograph on the cover of the catalog features their model Jock, getting a hairbrush spanking in a bedroom. While Jock appeared in a couple of their films, this particular scene was from a photo shoot and was never available on video tape.

  • A Spanking History Lesson from Copper

A Spanking History Lesson from Copper

Knowing that the world has been ordered to stay in, The great American Spanking artist Copper thought it might be a good time for some home schooling. He hopes to create a series of “History Lessons” that trace the early days of our fetish on video. Today’s lesson is “Filmco Studios“, one of the earliest producers of spanking films.

Coper has attached a brief written history, in addition to two of their original four-page catalogs that might stir some memories for the older readers (and maybe some curiosity for the younger ones).

A SHORT HISTORY OF MALE SPANKING VIDEOS

    FILMCO STUDIOS

HAL ROTH was a professional photographer from Washington D.C. who relocated to Los Angeles in 1981 and opened his own studio, Filmco (also known as Halco and Manco) specializing in male nudes from Southern California. Originally only offering still photographs and slides, he soon began including Super-8 movies of his models, mostly engaged in solo masturbation.

Early on, he began producing films with bondage and spanking themes. In these movies, the spankings always led to sexual situations, either solo or between the models. While the Super-8 movies were all silent films, Hal began using a video camera in the mid-80’s, which included sound. When he began offering his Super-8 films on video cassette, he improvised soundtracks, dubbing-in the voices and slapping noises with truly laughable results. He can even be heard mimicking a motorcycle driving by in one scene.

In all, Halco produced a total of 11 spanking videos. In chronological order, they are:

    CAUGHT IN THE ACT (1981)

This video was later repackaged under the title, “California’s Golden Boys”

    THE SPANKING HOUSE (1986)

    THE SPANKING PARTY (1986)

    THE BIRTHDAY SPANKING (1987)

    SPANK ‘EM HARD (1988)

    SPANK YOUR BUDDY (1988)

    THE SPANKING MASTER (1990)

    THE SPANKING MASTER – 2 (1992)

THE SPANKING MASTER – BLACK (1992)

    THE SPANKING MASTER – 3 (1994)

    THE SPANKING MASTER – 4 (1996)

Hal stopped producing new material in 1996, and many of his vintage products have been available through distributors such as Bijou Video or Bacchus Productions. A couple of years ago I ran into Hal at a Tom of Finland art show in West Hollywood, where he was still selling original print of the photographs that he shot over his career.

I am attaching a couple of the catalogs that were mailed to interested customers. “Spank Your Buddy” was a Super-8 transfer, while “The Spanking Master” was the first video of the series. You can actually see Hal Roth on the third page of the catalog (in the striped shirt) portraying Mr. Brooks.

Note: the prices quoted on some of the posters below applied at the time of the various video’s release, and no longer indicate current availability.
