I’ve holidayed many times in the Bavarian Alps, where I love to mountaineer, and I have good friends in Hamburg, Karlsruhe and Heidelberg. I have also spent time in Swabia through a town-twinning arrangement. I happen to speak fluent German as the result of a live-in German grandmother when I was a boy and I kept my German language going through personal interest.
